Man Hangs Himself at Kumasi Children’s Park

Kumasi, May 23, GNA- A man believed to be in his middle-age was in the early hours of Friday found hanged on one of the tall trees at the abandoned Kumasi Children’s Park, at Amakom.

The deceased, whose identity was not known at the time of filing this report, is suspected to have hanged himself in the night of Thursday with a red nylon rope.

The main Children’s Park in the Metropolis which is now in a very bad shape and not in use, is totally dark in the night and has become a den of robbers and drug pushers.

Since the place has become a dangerous place to tread, especially during the night as people used it as their routes to the surrounding areas, such as Afful Nkwanta, Amakom, Oforikrom and others, it is hard to find a soul after 1900 hours.

According to eye witnesses, the body was found hanged on the tree by a pupil who was then going to school and he quickly drew the attention of other passer-bys.
