Man found dead under a bizarre circumstance at Nkroful

Axim (W/R) Aug. 28, GNA – A 55-year old man, Mr Nyamekye Kwadoo who got missing for 11 days at Nkroful in the Ellembenle district of the Western Region, has been found dead in bizarre circumstances at the outskirt of Nkroful.

The Nzema East Municipal Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dan Ohene-Djan told the Ghana News Agency at Axim on Wednesday.

According to him, the deceased was reported to have left his house at Nkroful at about 0615 hours on August 13, 2008, to visit his twin sisters near the chief palace but did not return. ASP Ohene-Djan said as a result, the people organized a search party to look for him but to no avail.

The police Commander said on August 25 2008, at about 1430 hours, Mr Kwadoo’s body was found hanging dead on a tree at a nearby bush at the outskirt of the town. The body was therefore sent to the Axim Government Hospital for medical examination. ASP Ohene-Djan said a report conducted by experts at the Axim Government Hospital revealed that there were “holes on both arms and some cuts on the body”. He said with this report the police suspected foul play and have therefore intensified their investigations. According to the Police Commander, the decomposed body, infested with maggots had since been buried. 28 Aug. 08
