Man found dead near La Palm Beach hotel in Accra

LA (GAR), Feb. 12, GNA – The dead body of an unidentified black young man believed to be between the ages of 33 and 35, has been found lying near the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

Sources close to the police say the body which was found around 0800 hours on Friday morning, was suspected to have been thrown into the sea initially but was later washed ashore.

The La District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Yao Tettegah who confirmed the incident to the GNA in Accra on Saturday, said the body o= f the deceased had since been sent to the Police Hospital morgue in Accra for autopsy. He said crime scene experts who were called to examine the body, foun= d out that an instrument had been used to pierce the man’s eyes into the head which forced blood to ooze out of the body.

Police Superintendent Tettegah recalled that a similar incident occurred at the same place last year.

He appealed to the general public to assist the Police identify the dead body, while Police investigations into to incident continue.
