Man found dead in his room in Ashaiman

Tenants of a compound house in the afternoon of Friday July 1 discovered the lifeless body of a young man in his apartment at Jericho in the Ashaiman municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

An eyewitness, Kwadwo Andy, speaking to Accra News Friday July 1, said the deceased, popularly known as Sir Mike or Teacher, was a teacher at a basic school in the area. He had not been seen in the house by neighbours and relatives for some time.

However, a co-tenant realising Sir Mike’s room was buzzing with houseflies, drew the attention of other tenants, who forced his door open only to happen on the decomposing body of the young man.

He said neighbours had yet to identify the cause of death of Sir Mike, who had only recently been promoted to headteacher of his school.

The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary.
