Tema, Nov 23, GNA – A 32-year-old factory hand, who took advantage of his acquaintance with a 13-year-old girl’s mother and fondled the girl’s breasts has been fined two million cedis by the Tema Circuit Court ‘A’.
Godfred Sterwu Prebbie pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent assault and will go to jail for three years in default.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Robert Aganiba told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that in April this year, the victim disclosed to her mother that when Prebbie visited the house at Middle East, at Ashaiman in her absence, he put her on his laps and sucked her breasts and this had been going on from 2002 to date.
He said when the mother confronted the accused why he did that, he replied that he enjoyed sucking the breast and apologised.
However, the complainant later reported the case to the Women and Juvenile Unit (WAJU) of the Ghana Police Service and Prebbie was arrested. In his cautioned statement, he admitted the offence.
