Man fined for fingering a 12-year old girl

Techiman, Feb 05, GNA – A Circuit court in Techiman has imposed a 3.5 million-cedi fine on an 18-year-old farmer from Tuobodom in Techiman Municipality for inserting his finger into the private part of a 12-year-old girl.

Abdulai Biariba pleaded guilty to the a charge of carnally knowing the victim and will go to jail for 18 months in-hard-labour if he fails pay the fine.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Augustine Welbura told the court that on January 07, the mother of the victim detected the deterioration on her private part and sent her to hospital. A medical examination revealed that someone had sexually known her and she mentioned Biariba as the one who fingered her. The victim revealed that on December 22 last year, the convict and his friends lured her to a place and forcibly inserted their fingers into her private part but she failed to report the incident to her parents.

The police are looking for the other accomplices.
