Man drowns in River Ayensu

Gomoa Panfokrom (C/R) Oct. 27, GNA – Paul Agyekum, an 18-year old unemployed man on Tuesday drowned in the River Ayensu at Gomoa Panfokrom when he slipped and fell into the river . A police spokesman told the Ghana News Agency at Gomoa Panfokrom that Agyekum went to fetch water when he slipped into the river, which had flooded its banks following continuous rain in the area. He said that a search party organized by the people later retrieved the body and had deposited it at the Winneba Government Hospital for autopsy. Police investigations are continuing, he said.
