Man defiles 13- year-old girl

Tarkwa (W/R), Dec. 23, GNA – A farmer, Yaw Asamoah, 35, has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in hard labour for defiling a thirteen year-old girl by the Tarkwa Circuit Court.

He pleaded guilty.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court presided over by Mr Samuel Obeng Diawuo that on December 8, the accused visited his brother who lived in the same vicinity with the victim’s father at the Maame Yaa Nsiah village.

Detective Amponsah said the accused took advantage of the loneliness of the victim and lured her to her father’s cocoa farm and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her, after which he told her not to tell anyone about the incident.

Detective Amponsah said the victim could not endure the pains and so she narrated her ordeal to her father in tears.

The Prosecutor said a report was therefore made to the police and Asamoah was arrested and charged with the offense.
