Man commits suicide at Tafo cemetery

A man believed to be in his early 30s has committed suicide at Tafo Cemetery in Kumasi.

The deceased who was spotted naked hanging on a rope fasten to a tree on Friday morning, is believed to be a resident of the area.

A close check on his body, revealed bruises on parts of his body with blood oozing from his legs and genitals.

A section of mechanics and residents who trooped to the scene to catch a glimpse of the deceased believed to have committed the act the previous night, suspect ritual murder.

A resident who spoke to Kumasi-based Kapital news said; “we were working when we saw people rushing to the cemetery so we decided to come and see what’s happening, when we got here we saw this naked man hanging. This cannot be suicide because when someone commits suicide it becomes very evident from the person’s posture and this man here is kneeling though hanging on the tree.”

Residents are suspecting foul play indicating that this is the first time such an incident has been recorded in the area.

As at press time, the police were yet to visit the scene to examine the situation and commence investigations into the matter.
