Man commits suicide at Assemblies of God church

An unidentified man was on Thursday found hanging in a church building at Bukankyi in the Ashanti Region, the police announced.

The deceased, believed to be in his mid-30s, was found hanging in the Inspirational Assemblies of God Church. It is believed that he hanged himself at the sacred place during the night where nobody was around to see him.

What influenced the man to end his life could not be immediately ascertained.

He did not leave behind any suicide note before allegedly taking his life in that cruel manner.

Scores of people rushed to the crime scene, but nobody was able to identify the deceased.ASP Jeremiah Larli, the Abuakwa District Police Crime Officer, confirmed the story to DAILY GUIDE in a chat. The police, he disclosed, rushed to the scene when they were informed about the news of the man’s alleged suicide.

“When the police arrived, the man was found hanging on a generator cable in the church,” the crime officer narrated. He said the body was removed and sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for autopsy.

ASP Larli appealed to the public, especially those whose male relative had gone missing, to come and identify the body.
