Man butchered for stealing plantain to celebrate Christmas

A young man believed to be in his 30’s has been butchered for attempting to steal plantain from a farm to celebrate Christmas.

The incident occurred at Akyem Nsutem in Eastern region Friday December, 25, 2015.

The victim who has only been identified as Edem, sneaked to the farm with a friend to commit the act, however, luck eluded him when the owner of the farm caught him in the act and inflicted cutlass wounds on him while his friend managed to escape.

The victim suffered deep machete wounds on the hand and legs. He was rushed to the Hawa Memorial Saviour Hospital at Osiem.

The Osino Police have commenced investigations into the incident.
