Man believed to be one of oldest in Ghana dies

Beposo (Ash), July 13, GNA – Openyin Kwadwo Broni, a believed to be more than 100 years old and thought to be among the oldest in Ghana, has died at Beposo in the Sekyere Central District after a short illness. According to Madam Yaa Asantewaa, 85, the younger sister of the deceased, the centenarian died on July 12.

She said the family recently performed the final funeral rites for Opanyin Kwame Mensah, the younger brother of the deceased, who died in May at the age of 105.

The late Opanyin Kwadwo Broni, who was recently in the news, attributed the secret of his old age and good health to his kindness to other people, avoidance of alcoholic drinks and disinterest in argument and litigation.

He left behind two children.
