Man beheads boy, attacks sister and mother in Kumasi

The Kumasi police are investigating a gruesome murder case at Abuakwa, a suburb of the Ashanti Regional capital in which a boy has been beheaded.

The mother of the deceased, Felicity Opoku, and his sibling, Rita Opoku, were left with serious machete wounds in a frenzied attack by an unknown machete-wielding man.

Ashanti Regional Police PRO, ASP Yussif Tanko confirmed the grisly murder to Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Monday.

Explaining the incident, ASP Tanko said the assailant entered the room of the victims at about 1:30am and beheaded Kwesi.

When the mother, out of horror cried for help, the attacker turned and inflicted several deep cuts on her with the machete.

Probably assuming her dead, he left her and turned on the little girl, Rita and slashed her arm before leaving.

ASP Tanko said the police have no clear lead on the perpetrator of the dastardly act because they have not been able to talk to the mother whom doctors say they won’t allow the police to see now.

Nonetheless, he said the police were investigating.
