Man Arrested for Shooting Adansi Dompoase During Obuasi Funeral

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has taken a 30-year-old man into custody for allegedly shooting and injuring a traditional ruler of Adansi Dompoase during a funeral in Obuasi, Ashanti Region.

Police reported that officers on duty heard a gunshot on Saturday, November 29, and quickly moved in to apprehend the suspect, identified as Nana Yaw Dankwa.

An unregistered single-barreled firearm loaded with ammunition was recovered during the arrest.

The injured chief received medical treatment and has since been discharged.

The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be presented in court as investigations continue.
