Man arrested for campaigning during voting

Agona Nsaba, Dec. 7- GNA – The Nsaba Police has arrested Kojo Baasa a voter for campaigning openly for Mr Theophilus Maranga, an Independent Candidate for the Agona East constituency after casting his vote.

According to the Police, NPP supporters who were monitoring the election at Agona Aboano polling station arrested Baasa.

The source said the monitoring team close to the polling station spotted the suspect educating eligible voters to cast their ballots for the Independent Candidate.

The source said, the monitoring team arrested him and sent him to the Duakwa Police Station but there were no service personnel at post and so they sent him to the Nsaba Police Station.

When GNA spoke to the suspect, he denied campaigning for Mr Maranga but said he was only a supporter of the Independent Candidate. He also denied asking the electorate to vote for the Independent Candidate.
