Man arrested for butchering another

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested suspect Issah Mohammed alias Issah Koodey for allegedly murdering a 22 year old unemployed young man Richard Apuri at Adiebeba, a suburb of Kumasi.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah briefing the press said on May 1, a fight ensued between youth of Apraman and Kaase during which suspect Issah Mohammed and his son Sayibor allegedly attacked the deceased Richard Apuri at a road intersection between Ahodwo and Kaase.

He said the suspects inflicted machete wounds on the deceased until he became unconscious and was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) but died on arrival.

Suspect Issah Mohammed was arrested from his hideout at Daban through police surveillance.

He said further investigations revealed that, suspect Issah Koodey threatened to kill any youth from Kaase he meets on sight because his son Sayibor was assaulted during the clash.

Two hours later on the same day after the clash, Koodey and his son Sayibor hired a taxi cab with some men and attacked the deceased and inflicting machete wounds on him resulting in his death.
