Man Arrested for Allegedly Shooting, Robbing MoMo vendor at Nkawie

Police at the Nkawie Divisional Command have arrested a man identified as Kwabena Bioh for allegedly shooting and robbing a mobile money vendor at Nkawie in the Ashanti Region.

According to a police source, Bioh is suspected to have committed the crime with an accomplice who is currently on the run.

The victim, 40-year-old Akua Afriyie, sustained two gunshot wounds to her lower right abdomen and has been referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

Police reports indicate that on November 27, 2025, at about 8:45 p.m., the command received a complaint from one Georgina Antwi.

Georgina Antwi reportedly rushed the victim to the Essuowin Model Health Centre, where the police later found her receiving medical care.

Police say efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect’s accomplice.
