Man, 70 year killed in accident

Nkrankwanta (B/A), Jan. 11, GNA – Alhaji Abdulai Mahama, a 70 year old cocoa farmer at Nkrankwanta in Dormaa District of Brong-Ahafo died shortly on arrival at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital on Monday after he and his two wives were knocked down by a truck while on their way to the farm.

The two widows, Amata Abdulai and Ayishitu Abdulai, who sustained injuries, are on admission at the Hospital. Ayishitu told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the hospital that they spotted a KIA Besta truck with registration number GR 5318 X speeding alongside a Sefwi-bound Benz bus behind them in a sharp curve near Nkrankwanta Secondary Technical School.

She said all of a sudden the Benz bus grazed the side of the truck, which went off its lane to knock all three of them down and crashed into the bush.

A post mortem on the Alhaji’s body, conducted by Dr Daniel Agyapong, revealed that he suffered multiple injuries on both legs and the head.

He has since been buried at Nkrankwanta.
