Tema, July 4, GNA — The Tema Circuit Court ‘B’ has sentenced a 60-year-old lotto writer to 10 years imprisonment for defiling a 13-year-old girl in a classroom. Frank Bonney Kennedy Gyamfi, who is also the caretaker of the Community eight number three JHS public toilet was convicted on his own plea of guilty.
Prosecuting, Inspector Evelyn Susuawu told the court, presided over by Mrs Amanda Aikins that a concerned citizen who saw Gyamfi entering one of the classrooms with the victim at about 1500 hours on June 27 informed the police of his suspicion.
Prosecution stated that two police men who were detailed to the scene to ascertain the truth or otherwise of the information caught Gyamfi defiling the victim. She noted that five condoms including a used one were retrieved from Gyamfi who accused the girl of forcing him into the act. He admitted committing the offence in his caution statement and a medical report from the Tema General Hospital confirmed that the girl has been defiled.
