Man 28 allegedly impregnates step-daughter

Cape Coast, Sept. 27, GNA – A Cape Coast Circuit Court on Thursday remanded Ato Kwamena 28, a farmer into prison custody for four weeks, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his 14 year-old step daughter.

Ato pleaded not guilty and would re-appear on Monday, October 29. Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo told the court presided over by Mr Beresford Acquah, that the victim lived at Breman-Ayipey near Breman -Asikuma with her mother and the accused and all of them slept in the same room.

He said sometime last year, while the victim was asleep she suddenly woke up and realized that the accused was defiling her, while her mother looked on.

Police Chief Inspector Amonoo said after the incident, the family moved to Breman-Kuntenanse, another suburb of Breman-Asikuma and the accused defiled the victim again in June this year. The prosecutor said a medical report issued indicated that the victim was about four months pregnant, the accused was arrested and after investigations charged with the offence. 27 Sept. 07
