Man, 23, arrested for attempted robbery in Dunkwa

A Dunkwa Circuit Court presided over by His Honour Frank Aboagye Rockson has remanded a 23-year old man Ernest Boakye into police custody for attempted robbery.

According to the prosecutor, the suspect was arrested by residents of Denkyira Nyinawusu (a community near Dunkwa-Offin) when he and his accomplice (Emmanuel Addae) now deceased, attempted to snatch a motorbike from its owner who gave them a lift at the lonely section of the road.

In the course of the struggle, the victim raised alarm which attracted people to the scene where the suspect was arrested but his accomplice was lynched by the mob.

A freelance Journalist in the area, Gabriel Bediako reports that the Assemblyman for the area managed to rescue the suspect from also being lynched by the angry youth and handed him over to the police.

Prosecutors therefore requested that he be remanded in order to help them in their investigations.
