Man, 20, burnt to death

Hohoe, Feb. 21, GNA – Mr Kweku Adoboe, 20, was on Saturday burnt to death in a room in his family apartment near the Onchocerciasis Staff Quarters at Hohoe.

According to the Hohoe District Police Commander, Mr Victor Edusah-Poku, some neighbours raised the alarm when they saw the building in flames at about 22.00 hours.

He said it was during the assessment of the damage by the personnel of the GNFS who had put the fire under control that the charred body of the deceased was discovered in one of the bedrooms.

He said the deceased was the only person in the house at the time of the incident as his parents were said to have travelled.

Mr Christian Azanku, second in command of the GNFS at Hohoe told the Ghana News Agency that their preliminary investigations pointed to a fire coming into contact with a combustible material in the deceased’s room.

Meanwhile, further investigations continue while the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of the Hohoe Government Hospital.
