Man, 20, arrested for raping 100-year-old woman

Police in the Eastern Region have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly raping a 100-year-old bed-ridden woman.

Abdulai Alhassan is said to have raped Dora Yeboah yesterday when all tenants in the house had left for work.

Deputy Eastern Regional Police Commander ACP James Azumah Abass told Joy News the suspect will be arraigned before court immediately after investigations.

According to him, the suspect was caught right in the act by a tenant who returned to the house.

ACP Abass said the victim is being medically examined but observed the trauma is serious enough.
