Mali Coach Tips Ghana To Qualify After Black Stars’ Win Over Mali

Mali head coach Tom Saintfiet says Ghana should have no trouble sealing qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after their hard-fought 1-0 victory over his side in Accra.

The Belgian trainer, who watched his team fall to Alexander Djiku’s second-half strike, admitted the Black Stars’ quality should carry them through the remaining fixtures in Group I.

“Ghana has so much quality. There can’t be any problem for them to beat Comoros and qualify as number one,” Saintfiet said after the match.

The result lifted Ghana three points clear at the top of the group, easing pressure on head coach Otto Addo and restoring belief among supporters following last week’s draw with Chad.

For Saintfiet, the defeat was a setback for Mali’s own World Cup ambitions, but he conceded the Black Stars’ blend of talent and experience made them favourites to progress.

Ghana will now turn their attention to the next round of qualifiers, with fans hoping the Accra win marks the beginning of a strong run towards the finals in North America.
