Make profitable use of your time in school- Cleric urges students

Ajumako-Brofoyedur (C/R), July 20, GNA – Students have been called upon to make hay while the sun shines in order to achieve greater heights and avoid regrets in future.

The Rev Eric Agyenim-Boateng of the Ochiso Methodist Church gave the advice at a special dedication and thanksgiving service of the newly established 93High Brains Senior High School” at Brofoyedur in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District of the Central Region. In a sermon, The Rev Agyenim-Boateng charged the students to use the facilities they had been provided wisely, and to learn hard to achieve greater heights in their lives.

The Very Rev James K. Mensah, Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church, Bisease Circuit, who performed the dedication service at the school premises was full of praise for the proprietor, Mr Edward Wilson for making a wise choice. The Very Rev Mensah called on the residents to support the school in cash and in kind, and urged parents patronise the school. Mr Wilson, the Proprietor, said the took off on November 2, 2010 with only three students but now had 33 students with 18 qualified, dedicated and experienced tutors.

He said apart from the core subjects 96 English, mathematics, social studies, science and information communication technology (ICT) – the school offered special classes in general arts comprising government, history, economics and Fante language. Other disciplines include business, accounting, and costing, he said, adding that with the above, he was optimistic that at the end of their final year a good percentage of the 33 students would find their way into the nation’s universities.

He said his vision was to turn the school into a private tertiary institution within the shortest possible time and the first of its kind within the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District. 20 July 11
