Make Kwesi Botchwey report public – Balado Manu tells NDC

New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, Stephen Balado Manu has advised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to release the famous Kwesi Botchwey report to curb the needless speculation.

The Botchwey Committee was set up by the NDC to find out why the party lost the December 7 elections miserably.

However, contents of the report have been kept secret since the Committee completed investigations several months ago. The media has been compelled to serialize aspects of the report even though some NDC gurus continue to discredit the reports.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s “Ghana Nie” Morning Show with Bismark Brown Tuesday, Mr Balado Manu said, it is in the interest of the NDC to release the report to avoid the so-called wild speculation in the media.

According to him, political parties are public entities and must therefore be subject to public scrutiny.

He said Ghanaians will be the better judges when the much-anticipated report is made public.

The former Deputy Education Minister in the Kufuor administration also pointed out that people’s reputations and integrity will be protected if the report is made public.

“There will be no room for wild speculation; people will get know the truth if the report is made public,” he told Bismark Brown.

According to Accra based Joy FM, the report revealed how vehicles meant for the Presidential Press Corps were not given to them.

“Only 4 out of the 34 members of the Presidential Press Corps were given vehicles from a pool of about 200 vehicles available for distribution to the press corps and others,” the report said.
