Make evangelism a way of life – Rev. Akpalu

Accra, April 25, GNA- The Reverend Godson King Akpalu, General Overseer of “The Good News Evangelical Mission International” has observed that the church, apart from winning souls, must satisfy not only the spiritual needs of followers, but also meet their physical and other needs as well.

He added, “Jesus Christ whom we emulate today supplied all the needs of his followers.”

Rev. Akpalu made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the Church’s Headquarters at Fadama in Accra when Mr. Ouedraogo Baouedewagre, Director of Remar Ghana, an international non governmental organisation paid a courtesy call to show their appreciation to the church for supporting them over the years. Rev. Akpalu said satisfying the needs of the flock requires several strategies, including GNMI’s new concept where landlords and landladies are encouraged to establish and manage home based churches. He explained that this disseminates the gospel to majority of the people in their own environment and called on Christians to live evangelism as a lifestyle so as to win more souls for Christ. “As Christians, everything we do should be towards attracting people into the Kingdom of God since that is our vision, that all flesh should see the salvation of God”, he said.

The home-based churches Rev. Akpalu noted, offer tenants and their landlords the opportunity to share the word of God, thereby breeding peace and unity in homes.

“It would interest you to know that since we began the home-based churches, the issues of rent advance and other related problems have abated,” he said.

He therefore, appealed to landlords to contact them for guidelines so that Ghana and beyond would be won for Christ within the shortest possible time. The Remar Director used the opportunity to appeal to the government to waive taxes on clearing charity items since they were hindering their progress.
