Mahama’s tour funfair – CPP

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has described President John Mahama’s tour of the various regions of Ghana as needless.

President John Mahama has been on a tour across the country on what is dubbed, the ‘Accounting to the People Tour’.

Communications Director for the CPP Kadir Abdul Rauf, speaking to Class News, said various parts of the country remain underdeveloped and the narrative from the president on his tour that all seem well was false.

“We have also been travelling round the country for some time now and across the country what the president is purportedly trying to account for is non-existent,” he stated.

“Because as we go round the country, we see the difficulties the people of Ghana go through.

“At the moment, we are in the Brong Ahafo Region and you find out there are still challenges with inaccessible roads and most of the roads that we travelled on are not motorable.

“So if you feel you are coming to account to the people and people do not see what you are coming to account for, then, certainly, it is a contradiction.

“So, my view is that it is just a funfair and a jamboree and not something that should be taken seriously because the issues in this country are obviously clear.”
