Mahama’s NDC ‘challenger’ mounts stage to canvass votes for Akufo-Addo

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who picked the ‘wrong’ forms in an attempt to contest President John Dramani Mahama in the incumbent party’s presidential primaries popped up on stage at the New Patriotic Party’s final rally on Sunday to address the gathering.

George Boateng mounted the stage to vouch for the credibility of the flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, saying “he is not a thief”.

Mr Boateng, who came under verbal assault from the NDC for his audacious step to challenge the president, said Nana Akufo-Addo will be a good leader for Ghana.

He told the gathering that tPresident Mahama had colluded with the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah, to steal monies from the health insurance scheme for the 2016 campaign.

Speaking in Akan, he said Mr Akufo-Addo is a man who thinks about the country’s prosperity and Ghanaians should do the right thing by giving him the mandate come December 7.

“He will bring economic reforms,” Mr Boateng said about the former Abuakwa Member of Parliament.

NDC’s Oyarifa Youth Organiser said when Nana Akufo-Addo comes the cost of living of Ghanaians will be improved.
