Mahama’s gov’t has been ‘poor’ – Nana Addo

The 2016 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has described governance under President John Mahama as “poor” and “very ineffective”.

In an exclusive interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat on Starr 103.5FM Wednesday, Nana Addo said Ghana has largely retrogressed under the leadership of President Mahama.

“I think that governance under his [Mahama] term has been poor; we could have done so much better than what we have seen so far and to that extent I can’t give him a positive rating”.

The twice defeated Presidential candidate of the NPP added: “We have seen our country which at one stage was being touted as the new hope of Africa plunged into economic and political difficulties which were completely avoidable largely because we have not had the direction and the firmness of leadership in important matters that we should have had.

“We know for instance about issues of corruption, widespread the allegations are constantly being made and we don’t see any serious action being taken”.

Nana Addo also accused President Mahama of turning round to embrace his ideas including the free SHS which were heavily dismissed by members of the NDC administration.
