Mahama’s confused administration will be cut short – Ursula Owusu

Ursula Owusu, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West is hopeful that the Mahama led administration will be cut short by the Supreme Court.

Speaking in relation to the ‘three wise men’ (Hon. E.T. Mensah, Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin and Hon. Cletus Avoka) appointed by President John Dramani Mahama, she said there is the need for Ghanaians to be spared this current administration because one doesn’t know what next to expect.

“Is it the things of the Mahama administration that we should expect? Thankfully, we are hopeful that this ‘caretakership’ of the current administration will be very brief because as we are expecting the Supreme Court to look into this matter; we are hopeful that this phase will be mercifully cut short and then the Ghanaian will receive value for their money,” she said.

According to her, the President needs to come clean on his reasons for nominating the ‘three wise men’ because the duties given to them, apart from the fact that it is not really defined, is being performed by specific ministries such as Health, Education and Transport.

“That will create in my view another avenue for conflict; exactly what will they be responsible for; nobody knows. It is incumbent for the President to come and explain exactly what is the thinking behind it. How do they relate to the sector ministers and who do we hold responsible for anything that goes by?” she asked when contributing to panel discussions on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana with host Josephine Oppong-Yeboah.

The three were appointed by the President to coordinate the construction of 200 Senior High Schools, 10 Teacher Training Colleges and one Public University in the Eastern Region as well as the development of ultra-modern Regional and Specialist Hospitals; and the development of new International and Regional Airports.
