Mahama told to tighten his belt in corruption fight

Members of the United Cadres Front (UCF) in the Northern Region have called on President John Dramani Mahama to tighten his belt in the fight against corruption in the country, particularly in his government.

“Anyone found culpable in this regard should be punished without fear or favour…all Ghanaians should support the President to eliminate this canker of corruption from our body politic and the economy as a whole”,

These were contained in a statement issued in Tamale by members of the cadres signed by Alhaji Sule Alhassan, Acting Regional Chairman and made available to the GNA on Tuesday to mark the 32nd anniversary of the 31st December revolution.

It said Ghanaians should not forget that both June 4 and December 31, were linked since they spoke about the same principles of probity, transparency and accountability.

The statement also saluted the gallant heroes of the 31st December revolution and urged all cadres to unite under the umbrella of the UCF and assured the Northern Regional Minister Mr. Bede Ziedeng and his deputy of their support.
