Information reaching Myjoyonline.com indicates that the Office of the President has directed the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to halt any process to rename the Hockey Pitch after the late Prof. Atta Mills.
The Mayor of Accra, Dr Alfred Vanderpuije, who is championing the renaming of the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch, has also been summoned to the Flagstaff House, the seat of government.
Myjoyonline.com has also learnt that the presidency was not informed before the decision was taken.
