Mahama should stop facebooking and work – Agyemang Manu

Chairman of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee, Kweku Agyemang Manu, has admonished President John Mahama to stop facebooking and concentrate on governing the country.

The opposition Legislator for Dormaa Central told XYZ Breakfast Show host, Moro Awudu, on Monday that: “Last week he posted something on his wall on facebook – the President himself – and I said on radio that he should stop those things for now”.

The former Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning in the Kufuor administration made the point when he reacted to a separate facebook posting by the President, in which he thanked “wise Ghanaian politicians” for supporting his efforts rather than gloating at the current unimpressive economic circumstances.

According to Mr Agyemang Manu, “the President himself shouldn’t be doing this kind of propaganda politics”.

“He should allow that to be done by the younger guys. I don’t want to mention names, but you all know them,” he said.

President Mahama keeps an active official facebook page on which he puts out information about his administration.

He currently has over 322,000 followers on that page.
