Mahama promises ‘unprecedented’ prosperity in Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama says Ghanaians should be a little patient as they are about to enjoy a kind of “prosperity which has not been experienced in Ghana before”.

He said in a few time, there will be a turnaround of the economy, a situation which will disappoint the pessimists of his government.

President Mahama made these remarks over the week in Tamale, where he cut sod for the renovation of the Aboabo sheanut and grains market.

The market was built in the 1970s but has been left derelict.

President Mahama assured that government will complete all projects initiated by his predecessors in order to open up opportunities for the people of Ghana.

He assured the people of Tamale that with the construction of key projects, the Northern Region capital will be a hub for business.

Acting Trade and Industry Minister Dr Ahmed Mustapha added that government will complete all abandoned markets in the country to boost commerce.

He said the Aboabo project will be completed within 18 months.
