Mahama marks birthday in C/R; urges decorum on Dec 7

President John Dramani Mahama who turned 54 today (Thursday, November 29) has used the special day to urge Ghanaians to go about the elections peacefully.

President Mahama who is currently campaigning in the Central Region on Advancing the Better Ghana Agenda said he dedicates his birthday to all the people of Ghana and hopes that the December 7 elections will be an incident free one.

“Exactly today I was born in the small town of Damongo and I thank God for how far he has brought me. I believe that he has guided my steps this far and I believe that he will guide my steps going forward.”

“I want to dedicate this birthday to all the people of Ghana and to the elections that we are about to have, it is my prayer that and hope that this elections will go peacefully and successfully and that Ghana would come out once again very proud.”

He thanked Ghanaians for their support and prayers on his life enjoined all and sundry to lift the flag of Ghana high.

Meanwhile President Mahama has derided the New Patriotic Party’s free Senior High School promise stressing that Ghana’s education system could collapse if the policy is implemented now.

He says other African countries such as Kenya and Botswana have reintroduced fee paying in their secondary schools after a free education policy nearly collapsed their secondary education system.

President Mahama who addressed students of the Cape Coast University as he begins a three day campaign in the Central Region was reacting to Nana Akufo Addo’s persistence with his free SHS promise on the campaign trail.
