President John Dramani Mahama has appointed the Assistant Commissioner of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) Mr. Wallace Kofi Akondor, as acting Commissioner effective May 5, 2014.
He replaces Mr. Isaac Ofoe Apronti who has been commissioner for some time now.
This is just one of several changes the president has made to the management of CEPS under the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
A letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani, copied to the Finance Minister, Seth Terkper also named Frederick Gavor, as acting Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations of CEPS.
Mr. John Vianney Kuudamnuru will now be Head of Imports and Exports at the headquarters of the service.
Osman Awudu heads to Tema from Kumasi as Sector Head. Mr. Awudu will be replaced by Mr. Kofi Toffah, as new Sector Head in Kumasi.
Mr. Melvin Mc-Bruce is now new Head for Takoradi Sector in the Western Region.
The Chief of Staff urged the Finance minister to take note of the president’s directive.
