President John Mahama has officially started construction of the 1,238-acre Afienya Industrial Park, a government-backed project intended to expand manufacturing, attract investment and create jobs.
The park is expected to accommodate more than 120 enterprises and will include the infrastructure businesses need to establish factories and begin production. Facilities will include electricity, water supplies, roads and waste treatment systems.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony on Thursday, 15 October 2026, President Mahama said the project was being developed in response to increasing demand from investors.
