Mahama inaugurates new Millennium School at Mamprobi

President John Mahama has inaugurated a new Millennium City School at the Salvation Army cluster of schools at Mamprobi in Accra.

This is the 16th school out of 121 to be constructed by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly. It is a World Bank initiative under the Local Government Capacity Support Project.

Inaugurating the facility as part of his “Accounting to the People Tour” of the Greater Accra Region, Mahama said government remains committed to ensuring quality education.

He said the Millennium City Schools are aimed at stopping the old shift system which only encouraged truancy among children.

President Mahama said he has directed the Ministry of Education to procure 100 thousand school sandals to be distributed free of charge to school children across the country.
