Mahama honoured for ensuring food security

President John Dramani Mahama has been honoured by the Forum for Agriculture Research in Africa (FARA).

President Mahama was honoured with the Excellence in Food Security and Poverty Reduction Award in Accra in absentia as he is in Abuja, Nigeria, for the 43rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of heads of state and government of the Economic Community of West African States.

President Mahama announced this on his Twitter account (@JDMahama) on Thursday.

FARA is hosting its 6th Africa Agriculture Science Week in Accra.

The General Assembly is scheduled to be opened by Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur on Thursday, July 18, 2013.
