Mahama hasn’t neglected Ashanti region – Yammin

Dismissed deputy Ashanti regional minister Joseph Yammin has defended the record of the Mahama-led administration in the Ashanti region.

According to him, claims by some members of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) that the government is deliberately starving the region of development are untrue and mischievous.

Speaking to Starr News Isaac Bediako Justice ahead of a march in support of the government in the regional capital Kumasi Tuesday, the former deputy sports minister said the ruling National democratic Congress ( NDC) has a responsibility to tout its own achievements ahead of the 2016 elections.

“This march is to show to the people of Ashanti region especially, what has been going on within our media circles that the president has neglected the people of Ashanti.

“We are privy to what the President and government have been doing for the people of Ashanti and we know what he has done in two years far outweighs what the NPP did in eight years,” he stated.
