Mahama gov’t not helping private media – Baby Ansaba

Managing Editor of the Punch Newspaper, Mr. Ebenezer Ato Sam, popularly known as Baby Ansaba has said the ruling NDC has been very mean to the private media.

According to him, the government’s relationship with the private media is bad in terms of giving advertisements which will bolster their enterprises.

His outburst follows government’s advertisement exclusively in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times that seeks to sell 70% of its shares in a partnership deal.

Mr. Ato Sam bemoaned the “bad relationship” exhibited by the government on a panel discussion with Ken Koranchie of the Daily Searchlight, Editor of the Daily Democrat and AM Drive host Ekuorba Gyasi.

According to the seasoned journalist, the government has consistently given all adverts to the state-owned media houses; thus relegating the private sector to the background.

Comparatively, he commended the erstwhile Kufour administration; saying they supported the growth of the private media well.
