Mahama, Gbevlo will answer for any harm done Kuranchie – Group

A pro-opposition pressure group, Young Patriots, says it will hold President John Mahama personally responsible for any harm that befalls convicted Journalist, Ken Kuranchie.

The group says it will equally hold the National Security Coordinator, Larry Gbevlo Larty, to account in any such eventuality.

Its Spokesperson, Richard Nyamah says “if anything happens to the gentleman in transition to any of those places, we’ll hold the government responsible…we’ll hold the president and Gbevlo Lartey directly responsible for what is going on”.

The Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Searchlight Newspaper has been shuttled continuously between prisons since his conviction for criminal contempt on Tuesday.

He was first taken to the Nsawam Medium Security Prisons then transferred to Ho Central and later to Ketekrachi.

Prominent members of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, including former Presidential Aspirant Prof. Mike Ocquaye have told XYZ News that the endless movement of Ken Kuranchie amounts to an abuse of his human rights.

Prof. Ocquaye also claims not only have the Prisons officials denied Mr. Kuranchie’s wife visiting privileges, but also kept her husband’s whereabouts a secret.

The Public Affairs Director of the Prisons Service, Courage Atsem denies Prof. Ocquaye’s claim and says Mrs Kuranchie was informed at every point in time, the whereabouts of her husband.

The Young Patriots, which is equally appalled by the constant movement of Ken Kuranchie, has told XYZ News that its members will not forgive the president if Ken Kuranchie’s personal security and safety is compromised in any way.
