Mahama following Mills in not being hasty at decision-making – Segbefia

Former Deputy Chief of Staff Dr Alexander Percyval Segbefia has drawn a similarity between the late President Professor John Evans Atta Mills and current President John Dramani Mahama, saying the two are not hasty in making decisions.

President Mahama, who was Vice President to the late Professor Mills, was sworn into office on July 24, 2012 immediately after the death of his boss.

Dr Segbefia served under President Mahama until January, 2013.

He was recently nominated a Deputy Minister for Defence and appeared before Parliament’s Vetting and Appointments Committee on Friday, July 11.

Asked what advice he has for any president on leadership given his “closeness” with the late Prof. Mills, Dr Segbefia said: “President Mills demonstrated something which the current president follows: Don’t be hasty in making decisions.”

He said though the late president was referred to as “go-slow”, he performed well, insinuating that irrespective of the current economic challenges, President Mahama will be successful.
