Mahama facing backlash because he ignored wise counsel – Bature

Managing editor of the Al Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Bature has blamed the NDC’s abysmal failure and current state on its Flagbearer, John Mahama’s refusal to heed to wise counsel.

He said this on the back of an ensuing row between the ex-president and the President Akufo-Addo following the President’s decision to covert his official residence at Cantonments despite his retirement.

Speaking on Badwam on Adom Tv Tuesday, Alhaji Bature said that Mahama refused to listen to advise from himself on certain pertinent issues on the party’s growth and development, resulting in the subsequent failure of the party in the polls.

“if Mahama had listened to some of us, they wouldn’t be at this point…..why must Mahama allow it to reach this level?”

Former President John Mahama has received a lot of criticism following the brouhaha surrounding his refusal to vacate the premises of his residence. Some members of the NDC made claims to suggest an approval of the request by the NPP, claims that were dismissed by the spokesperson to the President, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Alhaji Bature indicated that it was a “wrong move” for the outgone President to have requested to retain the building despite his retirement adding that Mr. Mahama was wrongly advised by his appointees in that regard.

He however chided the NPP for having held back information regarding the outcome of the request presented by Mr. Mahama. According to him, if the NPP had been forthcoming with information regarding the government’s response, the NDC would not have had grounds to make claims of an agreement.
