Mahama denies supporting FONKAR returnees to NDC

It is looking like the main propaganda weapon of persons who have defected from Mrs. Rawlings’ National Democratic Party (NDP) and are vying for positions within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is to drag President John Dramani Mahama’s name into their campaign.

They have been alleging all over the country that they are being supported by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama.

But The Informer can authoritatively report that sources close to the Presidency have denied the vile allegations being peddled by these FONKAR returnees who are struggling to work their way into leadership positions within the NDC so to destroy the party.

According to this paper’s impeccable sources at the Flagstaff House, President Mahama had never promised to support or is supporting Mrs. Rawlings’ men, as they want NDC delegates, as well as Ghanaians across the country to believe.

One of the sources said, “no matter how kind President Mahama is, he knows the potential political damage the NDP would have caused him in 2012 if Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings had scaled through with her nomination process.”

The source continues, “if Mrs. Rawlings had won in Sunyani, there was no way President John Dramani Mahama will be her (Nana Konadu) running-mate; and he wouldn’t have been in the political limelight.”

“In fact, it has come to the notice of the President, how some of these Konadu-allies vying for various positions within the NDC are going round bragging of receiving support from the Flagstaff House, when it is not true,” the source added.

Ask what action the President intends to take, the source said, “now that the said wicked propaganda weapon employed by these FONKAR returnees seems to be gaining root, the Flagstaff House will react appropriately to debunk the shameful lies of these persons.”

However, sources close to the defecting NDP members have threatened to expose those within government funding the campaign of these FONKAR returnees.
