Mahama couldn’t complete 200 SHS because of dumsor – Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the National democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has faulted ‘dumsor’ for being a hindrance in the incompletion of the 200 Senior High Schools promised by the Mahama led government.

According to him, ‘dumsor’ was the major challenge among many other reasons which confronted the NDC government for failing to deliver on its promise to Ghanaians.

President Mahama in an address to the nation promised to build 200 Community Day Senior High Schools in every district in the country.

It was later emphasized by the Finance Minister, Seth Terkper, who estimated 50 to be built every year till the first term of President Mahama was over in 2016.

However, speaking on Asempa FM on Wednesday afternoon, Koku Anyidoho said part of the monies earmarked for the 200 school edifices had to be invested into resolving the power crises Ghana was facing then.

He said it was necessary for the government to have taken such a decision, either than that, they would not have had any campaign message for the 2016 campaign.

Notwithstanding, he pointed out that President Mahama has commissioned about 50 schools in various districts and about 123 of them were at various stages of completion.

Anyidoho thence urged Ghanaians to vote for President Mahama, since he and the NDC were working in the interest of the nation.
