Mahama charges Africa to add value to her raw materials

President John Mahama on Tuesday made a strong case for multinational companies to consciously add value to, and process Africa’s raw materials, to create sustainable jobs.

He was speaking during a panel discussion on ‘Employment & Decent Work for Inclusive Development’ organised by the International Labour Organization in New York.

Other panelists were the Chilean President, Mrs. Michelle Bachelet, President of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo Solis, the Director General of the International Labour Organisation Guy Ryder and the Chairman & CEO of The Coca Cola Company, Muhtar Kent.

The discussion was moderated by CNN’s Richard Quest.
