Mahama, Amissah-Arthur partnership will be best for Ghana’s economy – Jinapor

The spokesperson of President John Mahama says the selection of Amissah-Arthur as Vice President is a prudent choice and will help in managing the economy of the country.

According to John Jinapor, Mr. Amissah-Arthur was the best candidate among the names that came up during the selection and consultation process.

Radioxyzonline.com on Monday reported that Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur had been picked by President Mahama to partner him for the next five months.

On Tuesday, July 31, it was confirmed that President Mahama had decided to pick the Governor of the Bank of Ghana as his Vice President.

Speaking to XYZ News, Mr. Jinapor stated that he is confident that the good working relationship between President Mahama and Mr. Amissah-Arthur made his selection a bit easier and is confident that the former deputy Finance Minister would do a great job in office.

Mr. Jinapor added that Mr. Amissah-Arthur has accepted the President’s offer and is hopeful that together they can achieve a lot for Ghana.

Mr. Amissah Arthur’s name has been presented to Parliament and he will assume office after his appointment is approved by Parliament.**
