Madina police arrests woman with Indian Hemp

Madina, July 24, GNA- The Madina Divisional police on Friday arrested Monica Sosa, a 39-year old woman, for possessing dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp.

The woman was apprehended at her store on the Medina New Road, a Surbud of Accra, where it is believed she sold hardware and provisions as a cover up for the sale of the substance.

These were contained in a press briefing by the Divisional Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Osei Kwadwo, at Madina.

ASP Kwadwo said when the police searched the house of the suspect they found the dried leaves concealed in two pig-feet containers, one buried under a fowl coop and the other one behind packed boards near the house.

He said Sosa who had denied ownership of the containers and the dried leaves had been placed in police custody and would be prosecuted after investigations were completed.
